JAPA MALAS
Japa Malas are a string of 108 beads made from different materials and strung
together to form a necklace. Also known as yoga beads and mala beads, Japa Malas
have been worn and used for thousands of years by spiritual seekers, yogis and
others on their spiritual journey.
In Sanskrit, Japa means ‘repeating in a low voice’ and Mala means ‘necklace.’ Japa
Mala beads are mainly used during meditation to keep the mind focused while
chanting and reciting mantras— a practice that has been around since the 8th
century. Many cultures and religions also use Japa Mala beads as prayer beads or
rosaries.
Karma Mantra invites you to use the Japa Mala as a support tool in your practice.
Japa Malas will serve as an anchor to keep you focused and grounded while you
meditate. When you aren’t meditating, Japa Mala beads can be worn to bring
positive affirmations and energy with you, wherever you go.
